Jim Ierley's links and thoughts about work and the Web

  • What this Blog is About

The world in which we work is changing.

Much attention is being paid to the changes in finding and keeping a job in the midst of the recession. However, I'm convinced that the Web is bringing an even greater wave of change that will redefine the rules for employment and success. I'm also convinced that this revolution has only just begun and that it's not too late to position oneself for success in the new workplace. You don't need to become a programmer. You just need to learn how to deal in the currency of the Web.

Posts here will include topics like:

    • finding information faster and looking in the right places
    • saving time by customizing your Web browser
    • personal branding to attract customers or employers
    • using e-mail more effectively
    • understanding social sites like Twitter and Facebook and how to interact purposefully
